By registering for the Chronic Benefit on your medical scheme you could save money. Medical schemes are obliged by law to fund the Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB) conditions. However, if you are not registered on the Chronic Benefit with your medical scheme, you might have to pay from your savings, or even cash, for the relevant medications for the PMB conditions.
